R. Mitchell Wolliston

I've always been all about filmmaking. Starting with a $20 camera, a tripod made from books, and no editing skills whatsoever, I began on the Youtube platform, creating videos with my best friend. My love for filmmaking and story telling only grew from there. Through out high school, my goal was to make my own film studio to make movies. With guidance from my teachers, I entered myself in multiple film contests, including ones for Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) and Canada Skills Contests.

 

       During my time in high school, I also found passion in Television Broadcasting. I began with a 6 month Co-Op internship with Rogers Television, and quickly found myself volunteering afterwards as much as I could. I quickly found my talent as a camera operator for sports. It wasn't before long, I was invited to RogerTV's OHL London Knights broadcast team, were I became a well known camera operators in the OHL.

 

       After I graduated high school, I immediately began my post secondary at Fanshawe College, taking the Television Broadcasting and Filmmaking course. My first year was spent learning the foundations to both fields, but entering my second year I chose to follow the path of film. During this time, I got to work on countless projects in teams and solo, working on Narratives, commercials, interviews, and documentaries. Editing became one of my finest skills, as well as aerial photography (as I was the only one with a drone in my class).

        Covid-19 ended my post secondary early, but didn't put a stop to me. I continued practicing my craft, working on my own projects. Then I became a freelancer, working with clients on a wide range of projects, including real estate, commercials and advertisements, sporting events and more.

        Today? Today my goal is to work full time doing what I'm good at, and doing what I love most...
